The Kalamata Photography Association (F.O.KAL.) is an active cultural organization with a long-standing presence in promoting the art of photography in the broader Messinia region. Through exhibitions, educational programs, and cultural collaborations, it consistently contributes to the artistic development of the local community.

The 1st “International Photography Gathering of Kalamatais the fruit of a long-held desire and plan, which received new momentum through the creative collaboration with George and Angeliki Arvanitis. Their contribution was decisive, both in reigniting the original vision and in providing valuable guidance for its implementation.

The Meeting features a rich program with solo and group photography exhibitions, lectures, workshops, roundtables, and educational activities. It is aimed at both photography lovers and the general public, fostering dialogue around contemporary imagery and highlighting photography as a medium for art, documentation, and social awareness.

The Meeting aspires to become a new institution for the city and the Peloponnese Region, enhancing cultural outreach and promoting photography as a means of contemporary artistic expression and dialogue.
