The Syros Photo and Film Club was founded in 2007 by amateur photography enthusiasts.
It holds at least two group exhibitions for its members each year, as well as multi-level photography seminars that are open to the public.
The weekly meetings, held in a space provided by the Municipality of Syros-Ermoupolis, maintain a pleasant, friendly atmosphere among members while also providing inspiration for photography (e.g., "theme of the month" challenges, photography excursions, photo critiques, and the study of renowned Greek and foreign photographers, and documentary screenings).
The club also organizes tributes to famous photographers, screenings of relevant films, photography competitions, and collaborations with other cultural and artistic associations.
The club currently has about 50 members who are involved in photography in different ways (applied or artistic).
Some members collaborate with photography magazines, others have won awards in photography competitions, and many have a large number of exhibition participations.
