Kalamata Photography Association Becomes an Official FIAP Member

The Kalamata Photography Association (F.O.KAL.) has taken an important step towards greater international recognition by becoming an official member of FIAP (Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique), the International Federation of Photographic Art.

This development represents an important milestone for our local photography association, which continues to expand its horizons through consistent work, creativity and a strong commitment to photographic art.

The February 2026 issue of the FIAP magazine features an extensive presentation of the Kalamata Photography Association and the 1st International Photography Gathering of Kalamata, which took place in September 2025.

The presentation highlights the international dimension of the event and the growing presence of F.O.KAL. in the field of photographic art. It also reflects the association’s contribution to the development of photography as a means of artistic expression, communication and cultural exchange.

The 1st International Photography Gathering of Kalamata brought together photographers, photography groups and visitors from Greece and abroad, creating a space for exhibitions, meetings, educational activities and creative exchange.

The participation of international photography communities, including the Adasa Photography Club from Egypt, contributed to the intercultural character of the event and strengthened the connection between Kalamata and the wider international photographic community.

Our participation in the international FIAP community opens new opportunities for collaboration, exchange of ideas, experiences and creative initiatives with photography communities from around the world.

At the same time, it strengthens the cultural presence of Kalamata and highlights the city as a place where photography, art and international creative exchange can meet.

F.O.KAL. has already begun preparations for the 2nd International Photography Gathering of Kalamata, scheduled for September 2026, with the aim of creating another important meeting point for photography, creativity, dialogue and international participation.

Building on the experience of the first gathering, the association continues to develop new ideas and initiatives that bring photographers and photography enthusiasts closer together, while promoting Kalamata as an active destination for photographic and cultural activities.

This important development is the result of the collective effort and creative contribution of all the members of the Kalamata Photography Association.

Becoming part of FIAP is not only a recognition of the association’s work, but also an opportunity to further develop its activities, strengthen international connections and create new possibilities for collaboration.
